About Little Rivers
Since spring of 2017, Little Rivers Child Care has been providing a home away from home for the children of hard working families in the Winston Dillard community. We are a licensed Family Home Child Care with a focus on play based learning to enhance individual development of each child. Each day is a new adventure where we build friendships, play, sing, read stories, create beautiful artwork and more, with ample space and opportunity to play outdoors.

Monthly menus are planned with kid's tastes in mind, providing freshness and variety in each meal. Meals and snacks comply with U.S.D.A food program requirements and exceed standard quality. Monthly menus are planned and posted online and on site.

At Little Rivers, we believe that social and emotional development is the foundation for all other academic learning. As a teacher and a caregiver I aspire to provide authentic heartfelt positive interactions that build trust and respect with children. Learning language and communication are vital to a child's social and emotional development and part of my goal is to help children develop and build on these skills. We encourage and inspire kids to be creative, learn problem solving, develop friendships and develop positive self esteem. When children learn and accomplish new things, they feel good about themselves and they develop the confidence they need to continue to succeed. As I learn more about Early childhood development and education, the more passionate and inspired I feel to provide a quality learning environment. Influences and inspiration comes from several approaches to teaching that include Reggio Emilia, Waldorf and Montessori philosophies.
Environment
Creating safe spaces
At Little Rivers, we are all about balancing fun and safety while providing meaningful play experiences. Equipment and landscapes are maintained to provide an open and hazard free environment to explore. With 2 different outdoor spaces children have ample choice to engage in large motor activities in rain or shine. Outdoor areas are enclosed yet provide plenty of space and opportunity for adventure and play.
